Helen:         It's a big day today. (අද ලොකු දවසක්.)

We have a new neighbour, (අපිට අළුත් අසල්වැසියෙක් ඉන්නවා.)

and we're all excited. (අපි ඔක්කොම සතුටින් තැතිගෙන ඉන්නේ.)

Well, Jane and I certainly are. (මායි ජේනුයි ඇත්තටම සතුටින් තැතිගෙන ඉන්නේ.)

David:         Are you ready? (ඔයාලා සූදානම්ද?)

It's a quarter to seven. (හතට කාලයි.)

Helen:         What time does the film start? (කීයටද ෆිල්ම් එක පටන්ගන්නේ?)

David:         Half past seven. (හත හමාරට.)

Helen:         OK.

Jane:           He's nice. (ඔහු නියමයි.)

Helen:         He's very nice. (ඔහු හරිම නියමයි.)

David:         But not good-looking. (ඒත් ලස්සන / හොඳ පෙනුමැති නෑ.)

Jane:           He is good-looking. (ඔහු හොඳ පෙනුමයි.)

Helen:         Mmm!

Matt:           It's nearly ten to seven. (හතට 10 ම වෙලා.)

Who's that? (කවුද අර?)

David:         The new neighbour. (අළුත් අසල්වැසියා.)

Matt:           That's a nice car. (අරක නියම කාර් එකක්.)

Helen:         I bet it's fast. (ඔට්ටුයි ඒක වේගවත්.)

David:         That thing?  (අර දේ / කෙහෙල් මල?)

No, it's slow. (නෑ, ඒක හෙමින් යන්නේ.)

Jane:           It's very expensive. (ඒක ගොඩක් ගණං.)

David:         It's cheap. (ඒක ගාණ අඩුයි.)

Matt:           Is it? (ගාන අඩුද?)

Matt:           Oh yeah. (ඔව් මයි.)

And it's horrible. (ඒක ජරායි.)

Helen:         Let's say hello. (අපි හෙලෝ කියමු / දැනහඳුනාගමු.)

David:         Now? (දැන්?)

Jane:           Yes! (ඔව්!)

Helen:         Hello!

Simon:        Hi!

Helen:         I'm Helen. (මම හෙලන්.)

Simon:        I'm Simon. (මම සයිමන්.)

Jane:           And I'm Jane. (සහ මම ජේන්.)

Simon:        Hi Jane.

Helen:         Come in and meet the others. (ඇතුලට ඇවිල්ලා අනිත් අයව හමුවන්න.)

Simon:        OK.

Helen:         This is Matt. (මේ මැට්.)

Simon:        Hi, I'm Simon.

Matt:           Hello.

David:         And I'm David.

Simon:        Hi.

Helen:         Would you like some tea or coffee? (ඔයා තේ ටිකක් බොනවද නැත්නම් කෝපි ටිකක් බොනවද?)

Simon:        Oh, yes. Coffee, please. (ඔව්, කෝපි බොමු.)

Helen:         Matt, can you .......? (මැට්, ඔයාට පුළුවන්ද ....?)

Matt:          What? (මොකක්?)

Oh, yeah, sure. (හරි, මම හදන්නම්.)

Simon:        Milk, no sugar. (කිරි දාන්න, සීනි දාන්න එපා.)

Matt:           Right. (හරි.)

David:         Let me give you a hand. (මම ඔයාට උදවුවක් දෙන්නම්.)

Jane:           Have a seat. (වාඩිවෙන්න.)

Simon:        Thanks. (ස්තුතියි.)

Helen:         So where are you from, Simon? (ඉතිං, සයිමන්, ඔයා කොහෙන්ද?)

Simon:        Newcastle. (නිව් කාසල් වලින්.)

Jane:            David's from Manchester. (ඩේවිඩ් මැන්චෙස්ටර් වලින්.)

Simon:        Oh? (ඕ?)

Helen:         I'm from London. (මම ලන්ඩන් වලින්.)

Matt:           Biscuits? (බිස්කට් දෙමුද?)

David:         No! (එපා!)

Simon:        I go to the office most days. (මම ඔෆිස් එකට යනවා ගොඩක් දවස්වල.)

But on Wednesdays and Fridays I work from home. (ඒත් බදාදා හා සිකුරාදා දවස්වල මම වැඩකරන්නේ ගෙදර ඉඳන්.)

Matt:           Here's your coffee! (මෙන්න ඔයාගේ කෝපි එක.)

Simon:        Oh, thank you. (අනේ, ස්තුතියි.)

David:         The film starts at seven thirty. (ෆිල්ම් එක පටන්ගන්නේ 7.30 ට.)

Simon:        Oh, I'm sorry. (අනේ, මට සමාවෙන්න.)

I didn't realize ... (මට තේරුනේ නෑ ...)

Helen:         Don't worry. (ගණන් ගන්න එපා.)

The cinema's only ten minutes away. (ෆිල්ම් හෝල් එක තියෙන්නේ විනාඩි 10 ක් ඈත.)

David:         Come on, Matt. (එන්න, මැට්.)

Let's wait in the car. (අපි කාර් එකට වෙලා ඉමු.)

David:         Bye. (බායි.)

Matt:           Bye. (බායි.)

Simon:        Bye. (බායි.)

Nice to meet you. (හමුවීම සතුටක්.)

Jane:           Tell us about your job, Simon. (සයිමන්, අපට කියන්න ඔයාගේ ජොබ් එක ගැන.)

Simon:        OK .... (හරි ....)

Matt:           The film starts in quarter of an hour. (ෆිල්ම් එක පටන්ගන්නවා පැය කාලකින්.)

David:         Where are they? (කෝ එයාලා?)

Helen:         What do you do at weekends? (ඔයා මොකද කරන්නේ සති අන්ත වලදී?)

Simon:        I play tennis, watch football, go to the cinema, go to clubs. (මම ටෙනිස් ගහනවා, ෆුට්බෝල් බලනවා, ෆිල්ම් බලන්න යනවා, ක්ලබ් වලට යනවා.)

Jane:           Do you ..... have a girl friend? (ඔයාට කෙල්ලෙක් ඉන්නවද?)

Helen:         Jane? (ජේන්?)

Simon:        It's okay. (අවුලක් නෑ.)

No, I don't actually. (නෑ, ඇත්තටම නෑ.)

Helen:         More coffee? (තව කෝපි දෙන්නද?)

Jane ...... (ජේන්.)

David:         Hang on. (ඉන්න.)

I've got an idea. (මට අදහසක් ආවා.)

Jane:           He doesn't have a girlfriend. (එයාට කෙල්ලෙක් නෑ.)

Helen:         He likes tennis. (එයා ටෙනිස් වලට කැමතියි.)

Jane:           But he also likes football. (ඒත් එයා ෆුට්බෝල් වලටත් කැමතියි.)

Helen:         And going to the cinema! (සහ ෆිල්ම් බලන්න යන්නත්.)

David:         It's David. (මේ ඩේවිඩ්.)

The film starts in ten minutes. (විනාඩි 10 කින් ෆිල්ම් එක පටන්ගන්නවා.)

Say good bye to your big boring boyfriend and hurry up! (ඔයාගේ මහ ලොකු මේලෝ රහක් නැති කොල්ලට බායි කියලා ඉක්ක්මන් කරන්න.)

Simon:        Just a moment. (චුට්ටක් ඉන්න.)

Helen. It's David! (හෙලන්, මේ ඩේවිඩ්.)

Helen:         I really like Simon. (මම ඇත්තටම සයිමන්ට කැමතියි.)

Unfortunately, Jane likes him, too. (අවාසනාවකට, ජේනුත් එයාට කැමතියි.)

But I'm not sure if Simon does. (ඒත් මට විශ්වාස නෑ සයිමන් කැමතිද කියලා.)
